Memorial Day is a day to remember the men and women who fought and died for our country. Who are you honoring today?

Last week, we told you about , a former Marine who served valiantly in Guadalcanal until he was shot, ending his time in the military.

Gorsline, one of only six men to survive Guadalcanal from his platoon, will be honored Monday by members of the Cpl Stanley L. Moore Detachment of the Marine Corps League, who will induct Gorsline into the league as a lifetime member following the .

During our interview with Gorsline, he paused to remember a fallen comrade.

"One guy I'll never forget, his name is Bennie Jones," Gorsline said. "He was from Daytona Beach, Florida. He laid right next to me – he got shot through the head. He laid right next to me, and I'm still here. Benny Jones from Daytona Beach, Florida."

Gorsline will be remembering Jones and other soldiers who were killed during World War II, but who will you be honoring this Memorial Day?
