Wine & Beer Tasting Fundraiser Benefits the Troy Nature Society

Wine & Beer Tasting Fundraiser
When: Friday, Nov. 1, 6 p.m.Where:Â Leon & Lulu (96 W. 14 Mile Road, Clawson)
What: The committee has organized a wonderful evening of food, entertainment and fun. There will be wine and beer samplings, assorted appetizers to fit every palate, entertainment by Classic Touch Strings, a silent auction along with a 50/50 raffle drawing. A special Pre-Glow event from 5:30-6 p.m. is planned for supporters purchasing higher level tickets.Â
Co-chairs of this year’s event, Amy and Stuart Redpath and Roger and Susie Kowalski are expecting over 300 guests to attend this important fundraiser.
Macy's Oakland Fireworks Spectacular
When: Friday, Nov. 1, 7 p.m.Where: Macy's - Oakland Mall (500 W. 14 Mile Rd., Troy)
What: Bring family and friends and join outside the Macy’s Oakland mall entrance in the north parking lot to watch a spectacular fireworks show, mini parade and Santa’s arrival with a very special Make-A-Wish child for a night to remember. Take a picture with Santa and enjoy live music, balloon twisting and fun for the whole family inside the store after the fireworks. Santa will only be visiting for a limited time as he has a lot of work to do, so catch him on Friday, November 1 at Macy’s Oakland.
Help Macy’s kickoff the holiday season and its Believe campaign, supporting Make-A-Wish, by writing a letter to Santa and mailing it in-store between November 1 and December 24. For every letter received, Macy’s will donate $1 to Make-A-Wish.
Ridgedale Players present NOVEMBER
When:Â Friday, Nov. 1, 8 p.m.Where:Â Ridgedale Theatre (205 W. Long Lake Rd., Troy)
What: The Oval Office descends into a three-ring circus of political incorrectness in this riotous farce about an unpopular president desperate to be reelected. President Charles Smith and his cohorts will stop at nothing to beg, bargain and browbeat their way into a second term. Â
Increasing Sales with new Telecom Technology
When: Friday, Nov. 1, 9 a.m.Where:Â 2675 Bellingham Dr., Troy
What: Expetec Technology Services of Rochester Hills will sponsor two events explaining and showcasing new telecom technology that will increase business sales. Beginning at 9 a.m. there will be open networking. A presentation at 10 a.m. will be presented to Business Owners, Presidents, CEO’s, and CFO’s. Â
Annual Fall Harvest Festival
- When:Â Thursday, Oct. 31, 6-9 p.m.
- Where:Â Zion Christian Church (3668 Livernois Rd., Troy)
- What: The festival provides a free trick-or-treating alternative to families and includes a costume contest, face painting, carnival games, candy, hayrides, prize drawings, food and a photo booth.  Admission is free, but some activities require tickets, which can be purchased onsite. Costume contests will be held for all ages and everyone is invited to wear family-friendly costumes. Due to the presence of young children, event organizers ask that attendees avoid scary and gory costumes.
Thursday Teas at Two
- When:Â Thursday, Oct. 31, 2 p.m.
- Where:Â Troy Historic Village (60 W. Wattles Rd.)
- What: Join Glen and Judi Morningstar for an exploration of the life and music of the itinerant, blind Irish harpist, Turlough O’Carolan. Hear them play the tunes themselves! Sip a cup of tea while enjoying a slice of history. Program takes place in Old Troy Church at the Troy Historic Village. Guests are welcome to bring their own teacup or use our disposable products. Tickets are $7 each and can be purchased over the phone or at the Village. Tea season passes are available for $20. Space is limited, advance registration is required. No refunds or exchanges.
