Would You Break Into A House To Steal Pots And Pans? Someone Did In Troy: Police

A Troy man reports that someone broke into his rental home only to steal pots and pans, police say.

TROY, MI — We've all been desperate for a missing pot or pan at some point in our culinary careers, but would you break into someone's house to get your hands on some pots and pans? Someone apparently did in Troy.

A homeowner in the 1000 block of Boyd St. told police an unknown suspect(s) smashed a window in his rental home and swiped pots and pans belonging to the former tenants, according to a police report.

The homeowner has his own idea surrounding the identity of the thieves...the former tenants, police say. According to the homeowner, the tenants moved out in October 2016 after falling behind in their rent and left some of their items, police say. The homeowner changed the locks, and believes his former tenants came back to get their pots and pans between Dec. 31, 2016 – Jan. 24, 2017.
