"This is what happens when you outsource busing to a private company, and folks who have put in decades driving our kids stand to lose their well-deserved pensions," James Maendel wrote. "As you can imagine, they are not happy. I love free enterprise, but trusting kids safety to a minimal cost/maximum profit enterprise -is this really where we want to economize?"
Bryan Watson agreed, "Let's see... you tell everyone that these drivers aren't worth what you're paying them. You demand that they cut their pay and pensions, but refuse to show evidence that the cuts are necessary. Then you give their jobs to someone else whose purpose is to make a profit, not to take care of the kids. Then you expect them to still be happy and caring and loyal. Wouldn't that make you a little sick? Too sick to be driving the kids around?"
