High School Students: Do You Want to Make a Difference in Your Community?

The Optimist Clubs of Keego Harbor and West Bloomfield invite you to join us for an informational presentation on starting a JOOI Club (Junior Optimist Octagon International) for 9th-12th grade students who are residents of the Greater West Bloomfield communities of West Bloomfield, Orchard Lake, Keego Harbor, and Sylvan Lake.

What is an Optimist Club?

Optimist is a service club that promotes Optimism as a philosophy of life; promotes an interest in civic affairs; respect for law;patriotism and friendship among all people.

Most importantly, it promotes the development of youth in the belief that the giving of one’s self in service to others will advance the well being of community life.

What can a JOOI Club do for you?

Fund raise for those in need in your community
Provide a way for you and your friends to help solve real problems
Hone your leadership skills
Develop projects to help you and others become future pillars of your community
Create fun events to bond with others

Please join us Thursday, November 1,  at 7 p.m. in the West Bloomfield Library Meeting Room.

Pizza will be served, questions answered and testimonials from teens in other area clubs will explain how this can be a resume builder for you.
