
The League of Women Voters Oakland Area (LWVOA) is sponsoring a Post Election Event on Tuesday, November 13th from 6p.m. to 8p.m. at the Regency Manor, 25288 West 12 Mile Road, Southfield, MI. Cost of the event is $15 which includes appetizers and a cash bar.
The following topics and speakers will be presented:
6 - 6:45 p.m.: Informal post-election conversation – Who Won and Now What?Â
7 - 8 p.m.: Panel of young leaders will discuss what ignited their passion to make positive change and their inspirational approaches to impacting public policy.Â
• Collin Foster Mays: college student, author & cohost of radio program "Life in the D"Â
• Jeremy Moss: youngest Southfield City Council Member (elected at age of 25)Â
• Rebecca Thompson: founder of "Ready Set Run" - political training and mentoring program for young womenÂ
• Graham Jones: Southfield Optimist Club - youth leadership and education programsÂ
• Jennifer Suidan - Successful campaign manager for Several Oakland County candidates, Previously with ACLU.Â
Kierra K. Williams: Michigan Princess (2011 - 2012), started an "Adopt a Grandparent Program"Â
