Gorgeous Gal Tries to Beat Murder Rap in West Bloomfield

Forever After Productions' take on 'Chicago' opens this week at the Berman Center.

It's Monday, and that means we've put together this list of things going on in West Bloomfield to help make your week a little brighter, easier and more fun. For a full list of things to do this week, look at the Patch calendar of events.

1. Calling all West Bloomfield High marching band parents

Band camp, fundraising, uniforms, performances and more are on the agenda of the marching band boosters meeting Tuesday, 7 p.m., in the West Bloomfield High band room.

2. Vote if you're in Precinct 9.

The Farmington Public Schools $222 million bond election will be held on Tuesday.

3. Mix and mingle with the West Bloomfield Chamber of Commerce.

Head over to Marshbank Park Wednesday at 5:30 p.m. to network with chamber members, then enjoy the last "Hot Nights Hot Music" concert of the season, featuring Persuasion, at  7 p.m. You can pick up something to eat at the concession stand managed by the West Bloomfield Optimist Club.

4. Relive your 1960s dancing days.

Take a trip back in time as M. L. Libeler shares footage from Detroit’s popular after school TV show, “Swingin’ Time,” hosted by Robin Seymour. This event starts at 7 p.m. Wednesday at the West Bloomfield Public Library

5. Watch what happens when a gorgeous gal tries to get away with murder.

Follow the adventures of Roxie Hart, an ambitious chorus girl who murders her lover and convinces her gullible husband to take the rap, in Forever After Productions' Chicago, which opens Aug. 8 at The Berman Center on Drake Road in West Bloomfield.
