Local Ice Dancers Win World Title

Meryl Davis of West Bloomfield and Charlie White of Bloomfield Hills have again won the figure skating world title in ice dancing.

According to an article in the Press & Guide, the pair won their second gold at the World Figure Skating Championships held in London, Ontario. The two beat out 30 other duos from around the world.

“All in all, it was the perfect finish to a great season. ... We really felt a lot of pride to be able to bring the championship home for our country," White told the Press & Guide.

Davis, 26, and White, 25, also placed first in the 2011 competition in Moscow—the first time an American team had won.
