Saginaw Man Accused of Swiping Cleaning Woman's Cell Phone

A 29-year-old man from Saginaw faces a felony charge, after telling police that he swiped a cell phone from a cleaning cart Friday at an office building on Haggerty in West Bloomfield. 

According to West Bloomfield Township Police Lieutenant Curt Lawson, a woman who was cleaning part of the building left her cell phone on her cart for a short time, and it was gone when she returned. Lawson said the woman spotted a man walking away and called police.

When officers arrived, Lawson said, they spotted a man matching the phone owner's description. As they questioned him and a woman who was with him, the man eventually said he had taken the phone and returned it.

Lawson said the man also faces a misdemeanor charge of providing a false name to a police officer.
