Still Time to Have Fun This Summer in West Bloomfield

We've found five fun events and activities for kids to enjoy before heading back to school Sept. 3.

While summer vacation is winding down, kids can still have plenty of fun this month. 

Here are five of the activities we found; feel free to add your own suggestions with a comment:

1. Develop mad science skills.

What: Create different circuits, interact with plasma balls, discover “sticky” 
static electricity and make static energy chambers to take home. 
When: Aug. 8, 2 p.m.
Where: West Bloomfield Township Library, 4600 Walnut Lake Rd.

2. Listen to Leonardo.

What: Take in the last Kids Komotion concert of the season with a Parents' Choice Award winning family musician whose songs entertain, educate and empower audiences of all ages and abilities. 
When: Aug. 22, 11 a.m.
Where: Marshbank Park, 2805 Hiller Rd. 

3. See some Great Big Taters

What: The contra dance band performs an hour-long concert for Music @ Main, sponsored by the Friends of the West Bloomfield Township Library. 
When: Aug. 25, 3 p.m.
Where: West Bloomfield Township Library, 4600 Walnut Lake Rd.

4. Make something you can take to school.

What: Create a tag for your backpack that's totally you. 
When: Aug. 27, 4 p.m.
Where: West Bloomfield Township Library, 4600 Walnut Lake Rd.

5. Rock with a couple of crazy dads.

What: Zippity2Dads performs catchy, upbeat songs the whole family will enjoy during an outdoor concert. 
When: Aug. 27, 6:30 p.m.
Where: The back lawn at the West Bloomfield Township Library, 4600 Walnut Lake Rd. (If it rains, the concert moves indoors.)
