'There's a Fly in My Soup' Author Featured at Jewish Book Fair

West Bloomfield resident Karin Jill Katz will talk about her books on Nov. 7 at the Jewish Community Center.

West Bloomfield resident Karin Jill Katz has one goal: to create simple stories that nurture the soul of a child, while teaching life’s lessons and core values to one another.

“I want my children to have good manners and show compassion and care for those around them,” said Katz, who is the author of One Ten and Over Again and There’s a Fly in My Soup

She will appear Nov. 7, 11 a.m., at the Jewish Book Fair in West Bloomfield.

According to a press release, the mother of three is raising her own children to model kindness and empathy, lessons she learned from her mother and her father, who is a Holocaust survivor.

There’s a Fly in My Soup tells the story of a hungry fly who eats and plays on a little girl’s food without permission. The short, rhyming story teaches tolerance, manners and respect. One Ten and Over Again advances the learning process for children though imagery and repetition.

The Book Fair will be held at the Jewish Community Center, 6600 W. Maple in West Bloomfield. For information, visit bookfair.jccdet.org. Learn more about Katz and purchase her books at KarinJillKatz.com.
