Theater: 'Of Mice and Men'

  • Why Go: The Acting Company, "America's major touring classical theatre" visits West Bloomfield this weekend for a performance of the Nobel- and Pulitzer Prize-winning classic, Of Mice and Men. Volunteering: Social Work Fair

  • When: 11 a.m.-2 p.m. Friday
  • Where: Henry Ford West Bloomfield
  • Cost: Free
  • Why Go: Henry Ford West Bloomfield is celebrating National Social Work Month with its annual Social Work Fair this weekend. Dozens of community agencies will be on hand at Main Street with information on the critical services social workers provide in our community. History: Summer Camps in West Bloomfield

  • When: 2-4 p.m. Sunday
  • Where: West Bloomfield Township Public Library
  • Cost: Free
  • Why Go: Get in that summer frame of mind this weekend with a look back at the history of summer camps in the West Bloomfield area, with a specific look at 1910-1960, courtesy of the Greater West Bloomfield Historical Society. Camps covered will include: Detroit Free Press Fresh Air Camp, Girls' Friendly Society Holiday House and the Protestant Children's Home Camp Tinega.

Youth: Queen of Hearts Dance

  • When: 5 p.m. Saturday
  • Where: Beacon Hill Golf Club and Banquet Center, in Commerce
  • Cost: $20
  • Why Go: The Dance Project, which hosts community dances for junior high school students to teach them swing dancing, waltzes and more, will host a Queen of Hearts Dance in Commerce this weekend. The dance will feature live music from the Syncopations.
