Wanted: Nominations for West Bloomfield's Outstanding Young People
The West Bloomfield Youth Assistance is looking for those young people committed to "making their community a better place to live."

Do you know a young person in West Bloomfield who deserves a little spotlight?
It could be: the neighbor who always volunteers to shovel your sidewalk; your daughter's tutor that juggles two jobs and an "A" average; your son's best friend who always manages to go above and beyond the expected.
Then, you'll want to nominate them for the West Bloomfield Youth Assistance's (WBYA) 2013 Youth Recognition Awards.

The competition is open to all young people who live in the West Bloomfield School District and was established to recognize and honor area youth known for being leaders in their community.
"The youth selected for this honor in the past have demonstrated an active commitment to making their community a better place to live," a press release from WBYA says.

"We do this because we believe that positive behaviors are often overlooked," the WBYA website adds. "These young people serve as role models for their peers and reassure the community that the future is in the goods hands."
Established in 1969, the WBYA is an area non-profit that offers professional counseling services for West Bloomfield young people and their families. The group also hosts various prevention programs throughout the year.
All winners will be honored at the WBYA's Youth Recognition Awards Ceremony this spring.
All nominations are due by March 18. Nomination forms can be found at the WBYA website.
