West Bloomfield Hockey Takes Home First in Regional Tournament

The Lakers will next play Hartland on Tuesday in the MHSAA quarterfinals.

It was a good weekend for the West Bloomfield High School hockey team after they won the MHSAA regional championship this weekend.

The Lakers defeated Royal Oak 5-2 Saturday night to claim the Division 2, Region 12 title, according to MIPrepZone.com.

"On both sides, it's just about hard work," head coach Steve Kuza told MIPrepZone. "On both ends, you've got to outwork the team on the penalty kill. You've got to outwork the team on the power play, and therefore that's why we were successful."
