July is National Parks and Recreation Month.

Since 1985, theΒ National Recreation and Park Association (NRPA) has in July celebrated America's local parks and recreation areas, like Marshbank, Bloomfield Knolls, Bloomer and Sylvan Manor parks, Drake and CommunityΒ Sports parks and more in West Bloomfield Township.Β
βLocal parks and recreation play a critical role in positively impacting communities in soΒ many ways, especially in conservation, health and wellness and social equity,β saysΒ Barbara Tulipane, President and CEO of NRPA. βPark and Recreation Month is not onlyΒ a great time to experience all the wonderful aspects of parks and recreation but to alsoΒ express and recognize why our local parks and recreation are so important in our lives.β
