Ex-Oakland County Substitute Teacher Convicted
Prosecutors said the former teacher had inappropriate sexual contact with several minor students at an Oakland County elementary school.
HIGHLAND TOWNSHIP, MI β A former Oakland County substitute teacher was found guilty of sexual abuse on Tuesday, according to the prosecutor's office.
A jury convicted 61-year-old Timothy Allen Daugherty on six counts of second-degree criminal sexual conduct. He will be sentenced on June 24 and faces up to 15 years in prison on each count.
The incidents happened in April 2024 at Spring Mills Elementary School in the Huron Valley School District in Highland Township where Daugherty was a substitute teacher, prosecutors said.

After an investigation, prosecutors charged Daugherty in September with six counts of second-degree criminal sexual conduct.
"Timothy Daugherty victimized the children he was supposed to nurture and protect," Oakland County Prosecutor Karen McDonald said. "Parents expect schools to be a safe place for their children and children should never have to fear their own teachers. Coming forward is never easy for victims, especially children. Thanks to them, Daugherty wonβt be able to harm another student."
