Three Thefts from Vehicles Reported in Highland

The following information was supplied by the Highland Oakland County Sheriff Substation. Arrests and charges do not indicate convictions.

Oakland County Sheriff's deputies were called to a home on the 4000 block of Mallard's Landing in Highland after the homeowner noticed items missing from his cars.

According to the report, the incident happened sometime between Sept. 24 and Sept. 25. The man told deputies, the report states, that several items were taken from two unlocked cars parked in the driveway of his home. In total, $840 worth of electronics, including an amplifier and sub-woofers, and sunglasses were reported missing.

There are no suspects at this time. The incident remains under investigation.

Purse taken from car at daycare center

Deputies responded to a larceny from vehicle complaint Sept. 24, on the 1000 block of White Lake Road in Highland.

When they arrived, a woman told deputies that she had left her purse and a packed lunch in the front seat of her unlocked vehicle while she took her child into the daycare center, the report states.

According to the report, when she returned, the purse and lunch were missing. The purse contained a number of items, including the woman's license, debit cards, credit cars and $30 in cash.

A witness at the scene told deputies he noticed a man in the parking lot "acting strange" during the time of the theft. The man left prior to the deputies' arrival. The witness gave police a description of the man and the vehicle in which he was seen leaving the business.

The incident remains under investigation.
