Cold-Blooded Creatures, Babies and Toddlers at the Bacon Memorial Library

Here are five things you should know this week in Wyandotte.

  1. At the library. The library schedule is packed with activities for children and adults including Baby & Toddlers Story Time, Drop in Crafts and the Huron-Clinton Metro Parks presentation of Cold-Blooded Creatures. Check the library calendar for days and times.
  2. The weatherman says ... The heatwave is over. Expect a chance of showers and thunderstorms and temperatures around 80 degrees Monday and Tuesday and partly sunny skies with similar temperatures the rest of the week, according to the National Weather Service.
  3. On the agenda. Father Walter Ptak will request city council's permission Monday for the Annual Polish Festival to be held from Aug. 23 to 25 in the streets surrounding Our Lady of Mount Carmel.
  4. For the kids. Flicks on Bricks will give it another shot on Friday after the first attempt was canceled due to weather. The movie is Cars 2. Flicks on Bricks is held at the Farmers Market site at the corner of Elm and First streets. Films begins at dusk.
  5. For the adults. Thursday is Pub-A-Polooza from 6 to 11 p.m. Participants can sample food and drinks from 11 of Wyandotte's best bars and restaurants. The event is sponsored by Love Wyandotte. Check the Love Wyandotte Facebook page for more information.
