Northville Man Reaches Finals in Grassroots Racing Contest

A Northville man is one of 15 grassroots racers who is a finalist in the Champion Spark Plug’s Search for a Champion contest, according to a press release.

Super Gas drag racer Bill Wise already has won a $5,000 racing sponsorship for making it to the finals and will now compete for a $50,000 grand price sponsorship, the release stated.

The contest lets grassroots racers representing asphalt, dirt and water/snow categories create “brief videos that demonstrate their commitment to winning a racing championship with the help of Champion spark plugs,” according to the release. People are then asked to vote for their favorite entries on the contest’s website.

The Wise’s video can be seen in the contest site’s gallery of finalists. Voting runs Feb. 24 through March 24, and the grand prize winner will be announced March 31.
