WYANDOTTE, MI β€” A woman died Thursday afternoon after she drove her car into the Detroit River at Bishop Park in Wyandotte, according to multiple reports, citing police.

Police said the woman drove crashed through the railing that separates the river from the park, which is on Van Alstyne and Vinewood streets, according to reports.

Police said the car was submerged underwater with the woman still inside the vehicle, and that it's too risky for officials to recover the car due to shifting ice on the river, according to reports.
