Wyandotte Resident Dies Suddenly; Family, Friends Seek Help With Burial

Wyandotte resident Kyle Smith died suddenly on Sept. 1. He was 24.

Six years after graduating from Roosevelt High School, Wyandotte resident Kyle Smith died suddenly on Sept. 1. He was 24.

Smith's family do not know the exact cause of death, and are taking steps to get the information by agreeing to an autopsy.

In the meantime, Smith's family have called on the community to help them bury their beloved family member and friend.

Close family friend Jessica Anthony said the Smiths need financial help with the costs of burial and funeral services, and have created a spaghetti dinner fundraiser to raise money for the burial effort.

The spaghetti dinner fundraising effort is set for noon to 6 p.m. Saturday at The Hooch, 5157 S Telegraph Road, in Dearborn Heights.

The family has invited the public to the fundraising event, and created an online fundraiser for those wishing to donate, but cannot attend the event. Click here to donate via the Internet.

Anthony said results from the autopsy could take up to 6 weeks.
