2 Officers Nearly Hit As Driver Crashed Into Ditch Off Interstate

A truck slid out of control and nearly struck two troopers Wednesday morning on Interstate 94.

ACROSS MINNESOTA—A truck slid out of control and nearly struck two troopers Wednesday morning on Interstate 94 between Monticello and Albertville, according to the Minnesota State Patrol.

A trooper was helping a motorist in another vehicle off the road. A driver in a pickup truck nearly struck them before crashing into a ditch off the interstate.

Both troopers were parked on the shoulder with their emergency lights on.

The driver of the pickup was cited for careless driving.

The State Patrol asked drivers to take the following precautions:
Slow down and increase your following distance.
Pay attention.
Move over and slow down when you see flashing lights.
