Major Layoffs Coming To Chaska Factory This Summer

The company plans to begin permanent layoffs in July at its facility on Lake Hazeltine Drive, according to a new WARN notice.

CHASKA, MN — Apple Valley Foods-US Inc. will permanently close its facility in Chaska and lay off approximately 95 workers beginning in July, according to a WARN notice sent to the state.

The layoffs will begin on July 11 and are expected to be permanent, officials said. The affected facility is located at 300 Lake Hazeltine Drive.

  • Production Lead
  • Sanitation Operator
  • Forklift Operator
  • Quality Assurance Technician
  • Packaging Line Attendant
  • Production Supervisor
  • Maintenance Supervisor
  • Research and Development Technician
  • Associate Warehouse Manager
  • Sanitation Manager

It is not known whether the employees are represented by a union, or if any bumping rights exist. There are no trade implications at this time.

The Minnesota State Rapid Response Team has assigned a senior specialist to help assess the impact of the closure and support affected workers.
