Body Found In New Prague Field Believed To Be Missing 24-Year-Old: Police

Authorities believe the body is that of Logan Sampson, who went missing Sept. 7.

NEW PRAGUE, MN — Police say a body found Tuesday morning in a New Prague field is believed to be that of 24-year-old Logan Sampson, who went missing over the weekend.

According to the New Prague Police Department, law enforcement located the body at approximately 10:50 a.m. on Sept. 9 with the help of a drone.

The discovery comes two days after Sampson was last seen leaving his residence near Bernas Lane on foot. He was reported missing Sept. 7, and multiple agencies and community members joined in the search.

The Hennepin County Medical Examiner’s Office will make a formal identification and determine the cause of death. Police said the incident remains under investigation.

“We are deeply grateful for the combined efforts of all agencies, partners, and community members who assisted in the search and supported the family during this difficult time,” New Prague Police Chief Tim Applen said in a release.

Agencies assisting in the search included the New Prague Fire Department, Scott County Sheriff’s Office, Shakopee Fire Department, Eden Prairie Police Department, Minnesota Search and Rescue Dog Association, Savage Police Department, the FBI, and the Minnesota Bureau of Criminal Investigation.
