Bomb Threat Targeting MN 'Pride' Event Came From Russia: Sheriff
"We have closed the investigation due to the geographical barrier," Cook County Sheriff Pat Eliasen said Tuesday.
GRAND MARAIS, MN — An emailed bomb threat targeting a "Pride" event in Grand Marais originated from Moscow, Russia, according to the Cook County Sheriff's Office.
"We have closed the investigation due to the geographical barrier, and the fact that nothing suspicious was located during our search," wrote Sheriff Pat Eliasen on Tuesday.
"Although the case will remain in a 'closed' status, any new information will be taken in and investigated for authenticity."

The bomb threat was reported at about 10:30 a.m. on Saturday.
The Cook County Sheriff’s Office said it conducted a precautionary sweep which yielded "negative results."

Cook County authorities then consulted with the Crow Wing County Bomb Squad, which determined that responding deputies did everything that the bomb squad would have done.
The Cook County Sheriff’s Office said there was "no indication of an active threat or harm to anyone."
