These Minnesota Bars And Restaurants Just Got Cut Off From Booze
The state says these bars can't receive liquor deliveries until they pay up, and some are longtime Twin Cities favorites.
MINNESOTA — A fresh round of Minnesota bars and restaurants have landed on the state’s "tax delinquency" list, meaning they can’t legally receive alcohol shipments starting May 20 due to unpaid or unfiled taxes.
The Minnesota Department of Revenue updated its list this week, flagging more than 40 new businesses statewide, including several familiar names in the Twin Cities metro.
Among those barred from booze deliveries:
- The Malt Shop Bar and Grill – Minneapolis
- Bar Zia – Downtown Minneapolis
- StepChld – Northeast Minneapolis
- Paul's Wine and Spirits – Hopkins and Vadnais Heights (two separate addresses)
- Estancia Larumbe Steakhouse – South Minneapolis
- Ace Spirits – Hopkins
- Bennett’s Chop & Railhouse – St. Paul
- Papa Legba’s Lounge – St. Paul
- Dilla Sports Bar & Restaurant – University Ave., St. Paul
- Voyageur Lanes – Detroit Lakes
- Tandoor – Maple Grove (again)
- Tentwenty – Mankato
- Paradise Resort Bar & Grill – Brainerd
These businesses are prohibited from receiving alcohol from wholesalers, brewers, or manufacturers until they resolve their tax issues, as required under Minnesota Statute 270C.725.

Can They Still Serve Booze?
Yes, businesses on the list may continue to serve alcohol they already have in stock.
But without new deliveries, supply can quickly run dry, especially heading into busy weekends and events.

Who Got Back On Track?
Several previously posted businesses have recently resolved their tax issues and are now legally allowed to resume alcohol deliveries. These include:
- Kinney Creek Brewery – Rochester
- Palmer’s Bar – Minneapolis
- Bonchon Dinky – Minneapolis
- O’Donovan’s Irish Pub – Minneapolis
- Portside – Stillwater
The non-delivery ban goes into effect May 20, the third business day after the list's posting date.
