Dramatic Video Shows Train Hitting Semi In MN
A semitrailer turned in front of the train and was struck in Brown County.

SLEEPY EYE, MN — A dramatic dashboard camera video captured a train striking a semi and breaking the truck's trailer in half late last week at a rail crossing in southern Minnesota.
The incident occurred around 2:15 p.m. Friday in the 24100 block of U.S. Highway 14 in Sleepy Eye, according to the Brown County Sheriff’s Office.
A 1996 International Harvester driven by a 24-year-old Minnesota man was in the process of turning into a business and was on the tracks when it was hit by a Canadian Pacific Kansas City Railroad train occupied by two Minnesota men, ages 56 and 57, police said.

The occupants of the train were treated at the scene for minor injuries, according to police, who said the truck’s tractor as well as the train were damaged, while the grain trailer that was struck was destroyed.
Police advised drivers near rail crossings to slow, stop, listen and look both ways while approaching, and not to stop on the tracks or drive past gates or flashing lights.
