SHERBURNE COUNTY, MN — Authorities are investigating the death of a 23-year-old female inmate at the Sherburne County Jail.
On Monday, the Anoka County Sheriff’s Office responded to a report of an inmate death at the Sherburne County Jail.
Authorities say Tyrah Shawnice Davis, 23, of Little Canada was found unresponsive in her cell by detention staff at 6:06 a.m.

Lifesaving efforts were immediately performed by staff and Elk River Ambulance, but Davis was pronounced dead at the scene.
Davis was being held on a federal charge, details of which were not specified in the online jail records.

The incident is under investigation by the Midwest Medical Examiner’s Office and the Anoka County Sheriff’s Office, in accordance with protocol. No further details are being released at this time, authorities said.
