A traffic stop turned into a deadly shooting Wednesday night in Minneapolis.

MINNEAPOLIS, MN— A traffic stop turned into a deadly shooting Wednesday night in Minneapolis. Body camera video of the incident is expected to be released Thursday.

The traffic stop around 6:15 p.m. involving a "felony suspect" was initiated near 36th and Cedar. The Chief of Police said the man in the car was wanted on felony charges, and he fired at police first.

A female passenger in the car was not injured. No officers were injured.

The body camera video recorded by police at the time of the incident will be released Thursday, according to the Chief.

The BCA was called to the scene Wednesday night to investigate. The officers involved in the shooting were taken to be isolated. They will be interviewed by BCA agents.

Demonstrators were also on the scene Wednesday.

Businesses were seen boarding up late Wednesday.

Few details have been released about what happened in the time when police stop the vehicle and when the shooting took place. The identity of the man and the cause of death will be released by the medical examiner.
