MINNESOTA — Minnesota ranks as the 11th-happiest state in America, according to a 2025 study from WalletHub. The report examined 30 metrics of well-being, including depression rates, divorce, work hours, and volunteerism.
Minnesota scored high for family stability, with the fifth-lowest divorce rate in the country.
Residents also tied for the third-highest volunteer rate and reported the second-highest adequate sleep rate, making them among the best-rested Americans.

WalletHub analysts said the happiest states are those that balance strong economies, health care, social support, and leisure time. For Minnesota, that balance shows up in family life, service to others, and healthy routines.
