Minnesota Among Top 10 States With Safest Roads In Country, Study Says
Minnesota was ranked between Connecticut and New Hampshire.

Minnesota’s roads are some of the safest in the country, according to a recent study.
The state was recently named America’s eighth safest in the study by Zinda Law Group analyzing fatal crash data from the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety.
The study found that Minnesota totaled 8.5 crash deaths per 100,000 people in 2021, with 451 fatal crashes and 488 deaths.

“Many factors can affect rates of fatal car crashes in each state, including travel speeds, seat belt usage, vehicles driven, state traffic laws, weather, emergency care capabilities, and topography,” a Zinda Law Group spokesperson said in a prepared statement.
“Planning your trip in advance, leaving at off-peak times, paying attention to your surroundings, and ensuring you are well-rested before setting off will help you stay safe.”

Minnesota was ranked between Connecticut, with 8.2 deaths per 100,000 people, and New Hampshire, which also had 8.5.
The Northeast dominated the study, with Rhode Island, New York and Massachusetts coming in first, second and third with 5.7, 5.8 and 6 deaths per 100,000 people, respectively.
