A Minnesota woman is accused of illegally filling out her dead mother's absentee ballot in favor of Donald Trump.

ITASCA COUNTY — A Minnesota woman is accused of illegally filling out her dead mother's absentee ballot in favor of Donald Trump.

Danielle Christine Miller, 50, of Nashwauk was charged on Oct. 22 with three felony counts of illegal voting in Itasca County. Each count carries a maximum sentence of five years in prison and a $10,000 jail.

On Sept. 20, the Itasca County Auditor's Office mailed absentee ballots for the 2024 primary election.

On Oct. 7, the Auditor's Office received two sealed signature envelopes/ballots; one for "Rose Marie Javorina" and one for "Danielle Christine Miller."

According to the Minnesota Vital Statistics death report, Javorina died on Aug. 31, 2024.

On Miller's ballot envelope, the witness section was completed and purportedly signed by Javorina, authorities said.

In an Oct. 11 interview with the sheriff's office, Miller admitted she filled out her dead mother's absentee ballot, according to investigators.

Miller said her late mother was an avid Trump supporter who had hoped to vote for him in this election but passed away shortly before absentee ballots arrived, according to the criminal complaint.

Miller also admitted she filled out her own absentee ballot and forged her dead mother's signature for the witness portion, prosecutors said.
