Scheels To Build 2nd Twin Cities Metro Location With Ferris Wheel, Aquarium, Candy Shop, More
The 250,000-square-foot location is set to open in 2028 and will bring more than 500 jobs to the area, the retail chain said.
BLAINE, MN — Sporting goods and entertainment retailer Scheels will open a massive new store in 2028, its second in the Twin Cities metro and sixth in Minnesota.
The 250,000-square-foot store is expected to open in spring 2028 near the National Sports Center and TPC Twin Cities. Scheels says the new location will bring more than 500 jobs to the area.
Known for blending retail with entertainment, the Blaine Scheels will feature several attractions, including a Ferris wheel, candy shop, interactive arcade games, and a 16,000-gallon saltwater aquarium filled with more than 600 fish.

The store will also include a wildlife mountain, a specialty restaurant serving sandwiches, jerky, fudge, and coffee, and a large selection of toys, including LEGO sets.
On the retail side, Scheels promises one of the largest inventories in the industry, with more than 80 specialty departments offering outdoor gear, sporting equipment, apparel, footwear, and accessories. Customers can expect to see premium brands like Nike, UNRL, Vuori, Wolf and Shepherd, Mizzen+Main, Mathew's Archery, and First Lite.

Once open, Blaine will become Scheels' 37th location nationwide. The company’s other Twin Cities store is in Eden Prairie.
