More than 97 percent of Minnesota's water systems complied with all federal health-based standards in 2024, according to the latest report.

ST. PAUL, MN — The Minnesota Department of Health (MDH) on Thursday released its 2024 Drinking Water Annual Report, offering a comprehensive look at how well the state’s 6,585 public water systems are meeting federal standards under the Safe Drinking Water Act.

According to the report, more than 97 percent of systems complied with all federal health-based standards in 2024.

The report reflects the results of ongoing monitoring and testing conducted throughout the year. It also outlines several strategic initiatives aimed at improving water quality and access statewide.
