5 Things to Know in Apple Valley This Week

2. Need a new vehicle? In a bidding mood? The city of Apple Valley is selling several unclaimed vehicles to the highest bidders. Fill out a bid form and put in your bids by Friday if you're interested in any of the 21 vehicles, from an Oldsmobile Cutlass to a Ford Explorer to a Mazda 626. 3. Apple Valley's fall residential cleanup day is scheduled for 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday. During those hours, residents can bring nonhazardous materials to dispose at the city's .

Eligible items include things like furniture, carpet and car tires; things like appliances, yard waste, car batteries and motor oil will not be accepted. Check the city's full list of items that will and will not be accepted to see what you can bring and how much it will cost you.
