
A truck driver from Apple Valley was injured in an accident on a rural highway last Tuesday. The accident proved fatal for the other driver, 21-year-old Dillion Gregg, of Redwood Falls, MN.
According to the Minnesota State Patrol, Gregg was driving north on Highway 71 in Renville County around 9 a.m. His 2000 Ford Mustang collided head-on with a 2007 Volvo Semi Tractor Trailer.
Gregg was taken to a hospital in the Twin Cities, but died from his injuries. The driver of the semi, Apple Valley resident Mitchell Lovitt, 46, sustained non-life-threatening injuries. He was taken to Redwood Falls Hospital for treatment.
It is unclear what caused the crash. No alcohol was detected in either mans' system and road conditions were clear and dry at the time.
