Apple Valley Names Sept. 2 'Gable Steveson Day'

A celebration will be held at Apple Valley High School, which the public can view on the school's Youtube channel.

APPLE VALLEY, MN — The city of Apple Valley announced Tuesday that it will proclaim Thursday, Sept. 2, and "Gable Steveson Day."

A celebration will take place at Apple Valley High School at 2 p.m. Thursday in the gymnasium, the city said.

Speakers at the celebration will include Steveson himself, his former coaches and Apple Valley Mayor Clint Hooppaw, the city said.

Members of the public are invited to attend virtually by joining the livestream on Apple Valley High School's Youtube channel.

Gable Steveson, an Apple Valley native, recently won a gold medal in Men's Freestyle 125kg Wrestling in the Tokyo Olympics.
