Why Go: Expressions Community Theater invites you laugh out loud at the Midwest premiere of Mama Won’t Fly. Savannah agrees to get her feisty mother all the way from Alabama to California in time for her brother’s wedding. The only problem is—Mama won’t fly! Check out what happens in this comedy at one of this weekend or next weekend's shows.

Why Go: If you haven't gotten enough home advice from vendors at the Apple Valley or Lakeville home shows, come to Burnsville High's main campus on Saturday to meet with experts on additions, driveways, finance, basements, bathrooms, doors and windows, cabinetry, landscape, chiropractic, roofing and more during this season of home improvement.

Cost: Free admission

Why Go: Top 20 presents lecture series' aimed at "empowering youth and adults to make a positive difference in the quality of their lives, relationships and experiences," according to its website. Paul Bernabei and his colleague Tom Cody, will bring Top 20 Training — Guiding Our Children Through Life's Challenges to the south metro. All proceeds will benefit District 196 Early Childhood Family Services programs.

Cost: $10 per person/$15 per couple in advance; $15 per person/$20 per couple at the door

When/Where: 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday, noon to 4 p.m. Sunday;

Why Go: Whether you're in the market for a grill or not, at the annual grill expo you can see and taste the differences among the latest models of gas, charcoal and smoker grills during grilling demonstrations by experts. If you are interested in making a purchase, there will be discounts and additional gift certificates included.
