Cleanup Continues After Fuel Leak at Magellan in Apple Valley
City officials say fuel didn't get deep enough in the ground to be near the city's water supply.

Cleanup continues at the Magellan fuel storage site in Apple Valley, after an 80,000-gallon gas storage tank .
It's likely that about 58,000 gallons of fuel from the leak remain in the ground, according to an article from Tank Storage magazine. While the city has closed four wells for testing, a report shows that the depth of the seepage is about 30 feet above the groundwater source and a few hundred feet above the city's wells, the article says.
"No one expects that any gas has gotten anywhere into the municipal water supply," Apple Valley City Administrator Tom Lawell told the Star Tribune.
