Eastview Collects $4K in Food, $7K in Cash for Holiday Drive

families provided $4,000 in food items and $7,000 in cash and checks for the all-school holiday food drive during December, according to a school announcement.

The goods and money go directly to food shelves of Dakota County and the at in Apple Valley, the announcement says.

Eastview Principal Randall Peterson said the goal each year is to hit 10,000 "holiday dollars" total—usually $6,000 in food and $4,000 in cash. The 11,000 total value of this December's collection surpasses that mark.

Students from several school groups volunteered to haul the food collection and count the money.
