Eastview One-Act Play Team Heads to State
Six performers and 14 crew members will take part in the team's state performance on Friday in St. Paul.

's one-act play team has qualified for this weekend's state festival for Class AA schools, according to a District 196 press release. Eastview's performance is scheduled for 11:45 a.m. Friday at O'Shaughnessy Auditorium at St. Catherine University in St. Paul.
Eastview will perform Diana Son's "Stop Kiss," which is about "overcoming violence and embracing the depths of human decency, emotion, friendships and love," the release says.
Cast members are Karina Devine, Madeleine Archer-Burton, Cuong Duong, Kieherra Laing, Alexander Norderhus and Nita Chai.

Crew members are Yana Allen, Matt Althoff, Mason Donnohue, Sarah Faste, Abbie Green, Chris Grotkin, Danny Hill, Thar Jor'dan, Vicki Luse, Courtney Mensink, Taylor Orman, Noah Skantz, Tyler Steen and Austin Truskowski.
The director is Scott Durocher and technical director is Rob Rachow.

It will be Eastview's eighth trip to state, where the performances are judged on an individual basis and not in competition with other teams. The school has earned starred performances—the highest rating—in five of seven previous trips to state, the release says, and .
Teams get 10 minutes of preparation and 35 minutes to perform. To rate each play, judges consider pace, blocking, costuming and projection of the play's meaning, the release says. Judges do an oral critique in front of the participants, and determine the starred ratings by private ballot.
Eagan High School also made the state festival this year, for the 18th time, and will perform John Steinbeck's "Of Mice and Men" at 10 a.m. Friday.
