Author and writing instructor Ethan Rutherford will lead a free, two-day short story writing workshop for teens on Dec. 27 and 28 at the Wescott Library in Eagan.
The workshop is open to youth ages 12 to 18, and will include writing exercises, group discussion and critique. Attendees must go to both workshops.

Rutherford has been a writing instructor at Macalester College and the Loft Literary Center. His story “The Peripatetic Coffin” was selected for inclusion in the anthology Best American Short Stories 2009.
