Five Things You Should Know Today: July 11
The storms will end this morning, but it's going to stay pretty steamy this week.

- Last night’s thunderstorms will linger into this morning, according to the National Weather Service. Today’s forecast calls for a 30 percent chance of storms before 7 a.m., but the sun will come out later and the high will reach 88.
- If the heat’s getting you down, check out these stats: Frost was reported on the ground within 25 miles of St. Paul on this day in 1863, and in 1903, a low temperature of 26 was recorded at Leech Lake Dam.
- The District 196 School Board meets tonight at 6 p.m. at Dakota Ridge School in Apple Valley. Board members are scheduled to discuss a proposed attendance area change for the Walden Pond neighborhood in Eagan, and a proposal to begin charging hourly fees for extended-time programming.
- If you’ve got Pokemon-obsessed kids in the house, bring them to Eagan’s Wescott Library for a from 2 to 4 p.m. today in the library’s lower-level meeting room. Kids 12 and younger are welcome.
