There's a chance of showers and thunderstorms today, with the possibility of heavy rain tonight.

- The National Weather Service predicts a 20 percent chance of showers and thunderstorms after 1 p.m. today. Otherwise it will be mostly sunny, with a high near 84 and mostly calm winds. The chance of showers and thunderstorms tonight, though, is 90 percent, with one-half to three-quarters of an inch of new rainfall.
- Today’s includes a concert for children 12 and younger – Rosemount residents only – by Blarney Stone Hunt and the Splatter Sisters from 1 p.m. to 2:30 p.m. in Jaycee Park; a youth rally, where teens can find volunteer opportunities within the community, from 4:30 to 8 p.m. in Central Park; a performance by Dance Connection from 5 to 6 p.m. in Central Park; and bathtub races from 6 to 8:30 p.m. in Central Park. - The Rosemount Planning Commission meets at 6:30 p.m. tonight in Rosemount City Hall. On the agenda: public hearings on a request by SKB Environmental to allow composting as an interim use in the waste management district, and a zoning ordinance text amendment updating standards for reviewing variance applications to comply with changes to state law.
- is serving Sunday brunch from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. every Sunday, not just Easter and Mother’s Day. - Introduce your kids to folk music with at the Robert Trail Library from 10:30 to 11:15 a.m. The ten penny whistle will be demonstrated, along with many more folk instruments. Admission is free; tickets will be available at the library after 10 a.m.
