Five Things You Should Know Today: September 9

Let's try to remember this string of nice days in, say, January, shall we?

  1. Today will be sunny, with a high near 80 and calm winds, according to the nice folks at the National Weather Service, of whom we are all very fond this week. Tonight will be mostly clear with a low around 57 and light winds from the north and northwest. Enjoy it while you can.
  2. Did you know that you can check bus stop information for your District 196 student online? It’s My Bus Stop on the district’s website. You’ll need your student ID and lunch PIN to use the service.
  3. And speaking of schools: District 196 is selling ad sponsorships this year on its website to generate revenue for the district. Sponsorships range from $1,000 to $1,500 for the entire school year. Details are available on the district’s website
  4. The Burnsville Fire Muster carnival and dance are tonight in Civic Center Park. The simultaneous events run from 7 to 11 p.m., with music by Brat Pack Radio. And it should be a beautiful night for a celebration (see above weather forecast).
  5. And today is National Teddy Bear Day. Sleep with your teddy bear tonight. We won’t tell.
