Here's Your Guide To Apple Valley's Mid-Winter Fest
This year's Mid-Winter Fest will take place Feb. 5 at Johnny Cake Ridge Park-West.

APPLE VALLEY, MN — This year's Mid-Winter Fest will take place on Feb. 5 at Johnny Cake Ridge Park-West, located at 14255 Johnny Cake Ridge Road, Apple Valley said on its website.
Activities will go from 10 a.m.-7:30 p.m., the city said.
There will be food trucks, hot chocolate and cider and alcoholic beverages available at the Fest, according to the city's website.

Here is the schedule for Mid-Winter Fest:
- 10 a.m.-3 p.m.: Mid-Winter Fest Hockey Jamboree
- 10 a.m.-noon: Snowshoeing-Dakota County Parks staff will be onsite to provide snowshoes and tips.
- 10 a.m.-3 p.m.: Bag toss tournament-register here.
- 1-3 p.m.: Horse-Drawn Wagon Rides
- 1–4 p.m.: Frozen Kite Flying
- 1–4 p.m.: 3-Hole Disc Golf
- 1-5 p.m.: Meet the Apple Valley Police and Fire Departments
- 1-5 p.m.: Snowman building contest
- 2–5 p.m.: Garden Cart Train Rides-the cart will be pulled by AVPD's UTV
- 3:30–4:30 p.m.: Ice-skating with Klondike, the mascot of the Mid-Winter Fest
- 3:30–4:30 p.m.: Recycling bin races-Parents push kids in a recycling bin
- 5-7 p.m.: Live Music by The Riverside Hitmen
- 7 p.m.: Fireworks show
The Medallion Hunt will begin at 9 a.m., with hints shared on the Apple Valley Parks & Recreation Facebook page, the city said. The medallion will be hidden in one of the city's 51 parks, according to the city's website. The person who finds the medallion will win $250, the city said. There is also a Pre-Fest Scavenger Hunt and the winner will get a prize pack of gift certificates from local businesses, the city said.
