Lakeville Bomb Threat In May Traced To Juvenile

The bomb threat was emailed to several staff members at Lakeville South High School, according to police.

LAKEVILLE, MN — The bomb threat that closed down Lakeville South High School in May was traced to a local juvenile, the Lakeville Police Department said.

A bomb threat was emailed to several staff members at the high school May 20, police said. The messages were received early the next morning, causing all buildings in the district to close and switching students to online learning, according to officials.

Resources from several law enforcement agencies were brought in to sweep several school buildings for explosives, police said. According to officials, the sweeps were finished by late morning and the threat was determined to be a hoax.
