Local McDonald's Stores to Give Away 100 Free Backpacks
McDonald's is staging a back-to-school backpack giveaway this weekend.
While there may be no such thing as free lunch, one fast food chain will be giving some lucky south metro kids brand new backpacks completely gratis.
This Saturday, about McDonald's restaurants around the Twin Cities will be giving free backpacks. Each location has at least 100 backpacks, which will be given away at 8 a.m. on Saturday, Aug. 3. The bags will be given out on a first-come, first-serve basis to kids aged kindergarten to eighth grade. Each child must be accompanied by a parent.
No purchase is necessary to obtain a backpack.

All locations in Apple Valley (7667 150th Street) and Rosemount (15035 Canada Avenue West) will be participating in the giveaway.
