Mid-Winter Fest Medallion Found Saturday in Quarry Point Park

Apple Valley's annual Mid-Winter Fest medallion hunt ended Saturday afternoon in .

Corey Bixby, of Farmington, is this year's medallion hunt winner; he received $250 as a prize.

Bixby found the medallion in Quarry Point Park around 2 p.m. Saturday, just before the release of the third clue. He said the second line of the second clue—"with no cover he is vulnerable"—tipped him off that the medallion could be in a more open location.

junior Sarah Reagan was the designer of this year's Mid-Winter Fest button, the design for which is used for the medallion. She was chosen from more than 100 students who entered designs, and was awarded $100.
