PHOTOS: Spring Egg Hunt in Rosemount

It was a blustery morning, but there were plenty of warm smiles at Rosemount's Spring Egg Hunt on Saturday.

Throngs of eager kids lined the soccer fields at in Saturday morning. The anticipation was thick as 6,000 colorful eggs, and thousands more randomly tossed pieces of candy, sweetly tempted from green blades of grass.

Temperatures hovered in the 40s and a chilled breeze made time pass seemingly slow. Some families resorted to jumping jacks to help keep warm, while others nestled in for hugs.

And when the horn went off, it was over in a flash.

Hundreds of Rosemount are children stormed the three soccer fields and scooped up their reward for braving the elements. A lucky few even found a special golden egg amongst the sprawling fields of fun. And the smiles on happy faces created all the warmth those that attended needed.

The annual Rosemount Lions Club Spring Egg Hunt is put on in partnership with the Rosemount Parks and Recreation Department.
